These Guatemalan items come from Henry and Cat Bucher. Henry was the retired Chaplain and Professor at Austin College. Henry was born in China, spent his childhood in the Philippines under Japanese occupation, graduated from the American University in Beirut, got his PhD on Gabon, Africa and knew MLK. Cat was born in Ecuador and lived her childhood in Latin America, speaking fluent Spanish.
The Bucher home was filled with items from around the world, collected on their many travels. They are both missionary kids who loved to take people on listening tours to places such as the Holy Land, Timbuktu, Gabon, Columbia, and Guatemala.  Cat led many trips to El Salvador and Guatemala, taking people into war-torn areas and hear stories from survivors. (Clay Brantley traveled with Cat to El Salvador in 2003) She also worked as a forensic anthropologist. These silent auction items are from Guatemala, collected by Cat and Henry to be shared with their many friends.
